Chengde Palace, Chengde, China, 1981

Chinese Emperor Kang Xi commissioned the construction of the palace of Chengde in 1703 as a summer resort. The property is now a public park, containing landscaped gardens, ancient gnarled pines, lotus ponds, artifacts, and artwork.
