Flags and Buoys

Photo: American flags and buoys hang from a patio ceiling

Doing photography in an environment like this really opened my eyes to things that I usually don’t think about, like the problems that affect the bay and the fishermen.

It was refreshing to have an established, well-known photographer along on the trip to give advice and to critique our work. Usually for me, photo instruction like this would come from inside a classroom and it was a unique experience to have it out here.

Long Exposures

When making long exposures, use a remote release to avoid camera movement. If you don't have a remote release, use the camera's self-timer.
