Photographer Lynn Johnson has made a career of getting close to people and allowing them to communicate their own stories through her powerful photographs. At a hospital in China, patients who suffer from diabetes practice exercises and meditation to lower their dependence on insulin. By crouching down and shooting form a low angle, Johnson captured this dramatic image of hands reaching toward the patient lying on the table.
