Photo and caption by Erica Lorimer

Dead feral Red Foxes hang on a barbed wire fence in country Victoria, Australia. Foxes were introduced to Australia in the nineteenth century for the purpose of fox hunting but they now pose a serious conservation problem. Local myth has it that the carcasses on the fence are a warning for foxes to keep away.

Location: Near Merrijig, Victoria, Australia
