After experiencing poor weather in western Iceland I decided to take a 9-hour drive across the entire country for a chance that the weather might break. The weather started to clear as the midnight sun dropped below the clouds. This created the brightest and most saturated sunset I have ever seen (both saturation and vibrance are set to zero). I searched around the black sand beaches for an interesting foreground element and strong leading lines to lead the viewer’s eye into the photo. I used a 2 stop reverse-graduated ND filter to balance out the exposure.
