Golden Bison

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Joaquin Baldwin

I wanted to get a photograph down at the same level the bison where, in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. I hiked down, following the last rays of the sunset, and set my camera low, letting the orange light hit straight into my lens. The smoke from forest fires made the sunset more orange than usual, and as the lone male bison stepped into the frame, I snapped one good picture, which has become one of my favorites.

Location: Yellowstone National Park, WY, USA
