Staring Right Through Me

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Joaquin Baldwin

In the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone, we stopped the car to watch a herd of bison. Unnoticed, another herd came from right behind us and started crossing the road. Rather than jumping into the car, I stood still and let them pass right in front of me. This huge male stared down at me as he stopped briefly, I snapped the shot quickly, and later was surprised to discover the intricate details of his iris.
