Up in the Arctic region, the island of Iceland is slowly cracking in two parts. Across Iceland there is the North American and Eurasia tectonic continental plates drifting away and eventually dividing Iceland in two Continents: North America and Eurasia. In this image we can observe a clear sign of this continental plates drift which runs along Iceland. To the west of the image is the North American plate and to the east is the Eurasia plate.
