On my last visit to Newfoundland, I was sitting at the edge of a cliff and a Puffin landed very close to me. He started tearing up moss, picking grass and then the wild iris that grows in large numbers in Newfoundland. He walked around with the large purple flower in his beak and seemed very proud that he had such a prize to take back to his mate. Puffins are also referred to as Clowns Of the Sea and their behavior always makes me laugh - but this was the first time I've ever seen a Romantic Puffin.
