Spiral Out, Keep Going!

I took this self portrait when I was building an experimental setup at Bioinspired Flight Lab of Stanford University. What you see on foreground are whirlpools created by a pen I insert in a soap film. The soap film is flowing from right to left between two nylon strings. Each whirlpool, also known as "vortex", spirals out of the pen's surface in a fraction of second and quickly moves downstream with the flow. The orange tint is due a special light I used for making this beautiful phenomenon visible to the camera. On background, I lay down and look up to the camera from behind the soap film.
