Bee-ing Friendly, No Bullying Here
Photo and caption by Elbert Hales
HoneyBee interrupts her gathering and pollination activities within this squash blossom to share with a much smaller species of insect. The bee demonstrates a tolerance for her little friend and appears to offer up an acceptable treat. One may wonder if this action suggests a symbiotic relationship existing between the two species. If such a bond does exist, it is not a widely recognized or documented liaison.
