At 5,895 meters, Uhuru Peak is the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa and tallest free-standing mountain in the world. After 5 days of walking, a 12am wake-up call on summit day, and 6 hours of steep hiking through snow, ice, and darkness, we are finally greeted by a sunrise view at the top. Here, first light illuminates a glacier in streaks of golden orange.
