From the eastern Lake huron shoreline along Route 124 are many small valleys of fertile farmland with hay/alfalfa as the preeminent crop. After a cutting the geese will flock to these fields and bulk up in july/august for the long trek southward. While driving along this route (To our amazement) was a flock of sandhill cranes joinng in the feast.

Location: Ontario route 124 from Parry Sound eastward in the Muskoka region.
