Magic Eye

Photograph by Simon Kwan, National Geographic Your Shot

Hong Kong’s breathtaking skyline takes on a dizzying effect in the darkness. “It is a forest made by the buildings,” writes Your Shot member Simon Kwan, who made the one-and-a-half-hour journey to the top of Beacon Hill to capture the cityscape.

WOW! This would make a excelent picture for one of those 1000+ piece puzzles that would last you weeks at a time.    Then again,  maybe not a good idea.  Excellent Photo, Well done.

I would call it 'Tiger Eye.' The colors are similar to the semi-precious stone, and the cultural association almost fits. Magic Eye is an enticing image difficult to let go of and memorable in effect.

Unreal!!    This rather reminds me of a circuit board of sorts.          Totally unbelievable, that many buildings in one place.         It's rather claustrophobic in my opinion.            Great photo!

La foto está bien; pero el que vivamos así es una tragedia. Ya no debemos aumentar la población.

The columns of windows remind me of computer screen images of streaming data, likely market data on the ebb and flow of commerce.  The human lives being lived in this uber urban environment with the highest possible population density on the planet are defined by economics.  Computers and cash registers monitor every financial transaction, as wealth is transferred to some and away from others.  The lights are on.  The electricity is flowing and the power meters are calculating the power bills.

What an image this photo presents of the energy and golden glow of Hong Kong at night.

Just beautiful! Part of what this photo accomplishes is to remind me that I'll take Yosemite any day. And maybe that is part of the point. Nonetheless, this really is an excellent shot. Keep up the good work.
