Hamadryas Baboon, Ethiopia, 2005
Photograph by Carsten Peter
The hamadryas baboons of eastern Africa live in small groups of several females and their offspring, led by one male. The largest of all monkeys, baboons spend almost all of their time on the ground, where they are vulnerable to leopards and cheetahs.
