Bagpiper, Scotland

Photograph by Kaitlyn Campbell

This Month in Photo of the Day: Travel Photos

While on a 20-day tour through England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland, one of my favorite pictures out of the 1,500 I had taken was this one. There was a bagpiper at the tourist pull-off area playing for tips. When I showed this picture to my family, they said it looked like the piper was playing to the mountains, and that's how we like to think of it.

I was in Scotland last year and I believe I was here.  I just checked on google maps and we did pass by Glencoe.

I lived in Scotland a few years ago, and while a lot of the Highlands can look the same, this looks like it MIGHT be Glencoe. He might be playing in memory of the terrible massacre that occurred at the site, as I was told pipers sometimes do. Beautiful photo, though! Brings back lots of memories.
