Bottlenose Dolphins, Mexico

Photograph by Garland Sutton, Your Shot

This Month in Photo of the Day: Animal Pictures

We encountered a pod of bottlenose dolphins near Los Islotes in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The shot was taken from the deck of the National Geographic Sea Bird, where I was working as a deckhand for the months of February and March.

These are not bottle nose dolphins. These are short-beaked common dolphins. Delphinus delphis.

Greetings.
