Lovely image - but National Geographic, you should be ashamed of labelling this African/Cape buffalo as an Asiatic water-buffalo! The bird, of course, is a yellow-billed oxpecker. Check your facts!!
Precious and amazing. Nature, once again surprises us with all it's special events, sights and happenings! Thanks for sharing this shot of an almost Disney rendition of "Beauty and the Beast".
You scratch my back, and I'll......... wait a minute that just wont work! Great study of a buffalo and its tiny helpful friend, who is just that. I enjoy the picture a lot, Akash, because it is a great one. j.e.s........
Great pic but that's an African (Cape) Buffalo and not a Water (Asian) buffalo. Moreover, the ox-pecker on its face is endemic to Africa.
What an expression! I love the contrast between the Bird's fine silky feathers and the Buffalo's dry leathery skin. I think the black and white does it justice. Well done Akash.
