Cafe Patron, Paris

Photograph by Christophe Debon, National Geographic Your Shot

This Month in Photo of the Day: Travel Photos

I don't claim the status of a photographer, I just take the pictures. When a subject catches my attention there's no time for analysis or composition. My work is instinctual.

This photo and caption were submitted to Your Shot. Check out the new and improved website, where you can share and connect with fellow photographers from around the globe.

I wonder the live that could watch a book in a coffee room is a wonderful live.

Cool click pic.  For some reason, this photo is reminding me of an episode from one of my favorite tv shows, I Love Lucy.

Excellent moment capture. Author seems to be a humble person!

This man loosk like Céline, the writer. A typical view of life in France and in Paris: café, cigarettes or cigars, coffee or wine. It's not dead yet.

Nice picture using mirror effect. However, the man is giving you the eye. He is not ok with having his picture taken. If someone does that to me, I usually get nervous and mess up the shot. I guess it's all right if you can stay cool and maybe smile at the person afterwards or thank them somehow. But I do wonder about the ethics of posting someone's picture on the Net.

i think the great thing about this picture is that while it's focused on the man, you can see the street

Window reflections of the street are some of my favorite subjects, reminds me of the old comedian Red Skelton and one of his characters, Très bien!

I like the layered look of the photo and the personality of the subject that you captured so well; he makes me smile.
