Old Hill Street Police Station, Singapore

Photograph by Suresheswaran Eswaran, National Geographic Your Shot

This Month in Photo of the Day: City Pictures

Colorfully painted windows—927 in all—distinguish the Ministry of Communications and Information headquarters in Singapore. Built in 1934, the six-story building originally served as a police station and barracks. It became a national monument in 1998 and is known today as the Old Hill Street Police Station.

Check out the bold new look and feel of Your Shot, where you can share photos, take part in assignments, lend your voice to stories, and connect with fellow photographers from around the globe.

Every picture I see of Singapore is so alive with color. I think I need to visit sometime. Lovely shot.

Love this photograph. Great colors, composition and depth. So many things to look at in one photograph -- the colors, graphics, people in, around and through the bus.   Even a simple potted plant to balance the left side. A present for the eyes. Wonderful. A well deserved Photo of the Day! Congratulations!!

Magical & delightful capture of colors and lights!  Composition draws me right into the image, as does the awesome clarity!  Positively fun, interesting, intriguing & already wrote "delightful" to view...Makes me take one more look...And, then, another look...wow!!  Great image, great timing and great "eye"!

Very cool building -- especially like the bus in front same color light inside bus -- looks like it could be delivering windows to the building

I love that the police station has a red light in the middle.  Makes it seem like a house of ill repute.
