Mise-en-Seine

Photograph by William Albert Allard, National Geographic

The Seine is the liquid heart of Paris—a conduit of commerce, a source of inspiration for artists, and a dreamlike backdrop for romance in settings provided by the dinner boat Le Calife.

Had dinner on a boat in the Seine once. Alas, it was with my parents and my brothers. May all who wish it, have it.

Interesting photo and dynamic shot. Very good point at seeing it - pity the strong reflections on the glass to the right, just to say something >:)

A different kind of picture, but one that I really like. Its very busy in a good way, with lights, reflections, color, and water, with the beautiful golden tower that seems to be only steps away. The pretty colored hanging lamp, with its reflection adds to this shot making it more of an eyefull!  j.e.s........

That's an interesting way to take a photo of something that's photographed a lot. I love how the colors from the lamp shade are bouncing off the glass. Well done.

And the Calife puts out a wonderful spread.  There were four of us so we each ordered a different dish and shared.  Ah, Paris,

love this type of photo where the bright chaos in the foreground captures your attention for the first few seconds, and then echoing the head turn of the person on the stairs, turns and just notices the background view as a hidden surprise. We both are surprised and elated at the same time - in the photo and in viewing it.

great image.

This is great. I wonder how long the photographer had to wait for that moment.
