Île Europa, Africa

Photograph by Thomas Peschak, National Geographic

Few divers ever explore the reefs around the Île Europa atoll, which lies in a stretch of the Mozambique Channel known for its massive eddies, productive nutrient upwellings, meandering currents—and spectacular surf.

Once again a photo that puts humans into perspective when compared to the massive power of the earth.  Great photo.

I like the shot because one can almost sense the weight of the water on the diver. Nice shot.

Otherworldly,....... the diver appears to be some kind of creature under the sea.    A strange blue world there, striking and a little eerie.

The blue and bluegreen colors are beautiful in a magnificent photograph. Above the diver it looks like a wall of water is about to come down on him, yet he is in the water!  Looking to me like some kind of unknown underwater creature! j.e.s........

@Liberty Smith  You can, you have to be there, of course, but have the camera ready at all times. If you hesitate, the shot is gone, and never to be again. I carry a camera of some quality at all times. Photo's show us things that we can share with anyone, memory is just that.
