Elephants, Tanzania

Photograph by Amanda Schmidt, Your Shot

This Month in Photo of the Day: Nature and Weather Photos

After spending two weeks building a windmill in Tanzania, I get a chance to sit back and enjoy the scenery. This big guy seems just as interested in me as I am in him.

How amazing to be so close to such beautiful creatures in the wild. Lovely shot Amanda.

This is a beautiful picture I like how the elephants don't even notice your there and is the sun is coming up or down?

This is such a beautiful shot. His steady gaze is complimented so well by the bright sun and soft grass.

As a high school student interested in photography, I often look to National Geographic for examples and inspiration. If you would like to see my work I have a photo blog here; http://maireadkahn.wordpress.com/

Again, wonderful photo!

Me encanta! I would love to lie on the grass and look into sky...

Sun is too bright, obscures an otherwise fantastic setting.  Just my opinion.

@Ken Truitt Well, it was taken at sunset, the sun is part of the setting. But thanks for the critique.

@Sami Shehab Thanks!  Interestingly enough, I was in Africa before I ended up getting my SLR.  So, this shot was captured just with a point and shoot. :)
