Fishermen's Song

Photograph by Nguyễn Dinh Thanh, National Geographic Your Shot

Nguyễn Dinh Thanh, a member of our Your Shot community, took this photo in Hue, Vietnam.

"Located in the middle of Vietnam, Hue city is famous for the old palaces, [and the] beautiful Perfume River. This is a must-see place if you visit Vietnam. The two fishermen are throwing casting nets on Nhu Y river. Their movement is like an artist playing a nice song."

What an image of harmony between humans and nature! And what skill to capture just this moment as the nets fall towards the water. Thanks for sharing this.

Wonderful shot, that reminds me of huge butterfly wings. The action of throwing the nets, and the rippling water is caught so very well. What must be a hard days work for these people, is for us a moment in time to be enjoyed. So thank you lots.   j.e.s...........

Love it!   Perhaps it is a dragonfly song!  Love the two little boys facing each other, wearing ball caps, sitting in the middle of the boats, too.  Places this timeless image in present time.

Three people each boat , far is a woman rowing the boat, middle seems like a child , near from the picture is a man throwing the net . Maybe two families,  very symmetrical!
