Shades of Green

Photograph by Luke Aveil, National Geographic Your Shot

Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne, Australia, takes on an ethereal quality in the light of a streetlamp, emanating deep hues of jade and emerald. “It reminds me of somewhere magical out of a fairy-tale story, a small piece of tranquility in the middle of a bustling city,” writes Luke Aveil, a contributor to Your Shot. Named after Sir Charles Augustus Fitzroy, the gardens receive over two million visitors each year.

Would love to walk to walk these gardens, all in my favorite color, ...green!     Indeed it is fairy-tale quality, and looks like a painting from a storybook.      Simply great shot!

Haha, very exotic. It is suggestive and it remembers me about Indiana Jones, really: that kind of adventure in the wild :D

Serene.  I like the contrast of the reddish color the air behind the trees.

For sure it is all the good things Luke  said it is but also a wonderful photo.  All so subdued and wonderful - perhaps magical is a good word.   And congrats. Cheers.

A beautiful and peaceful picture in shades of green. A garden to be in, to calm the mind, and rest the eyes, and heart. Alas I did not visit this magical garden when I was in Melbourne, and that's my great loss! Thanks for the wonderful shot.   j.e.s........
