This Month in Photo of the Day: City Pictures

St. Basil's Cathedral is brilliantly lit on a winter's night in Red Square, the famed brick plaza long used by Kremlin occupants for meetings and celebrations. Today, the square is anchored by some of Moscow's most popular attractions, including the State History Museum and the mausoleum of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin.

Love it the way the catedral is shown in vivid color against the dark.

Сам по себе конный памятник Жукову не интересен. А вот его тень на стене оказывается прекрасна. Аплодисменты.

Wish I had known when in Moscow that St. Basil's was visible from this place. Very cool!

The shadow on the left side wall looks like a dancing woman ~

The shadow, the green light and the bright colorful place beyond the gate made it thrice interesting.

I think I am most impressed with the shadow of the statue on the wall that seems like a ghost of times past in this place
