Skimming the Surface

Photograph by Richard Balonglong, National Geographic Your Shot

"A local gets airborne as he hits the breaking waves with his skimboard at the Barangay Urbiztondo beach in San Juan, La Union, Philippines, dubbed the north's surfing capital," writes Richard Balonglong, a member of National Geographic Your Shot. "This coming summer, tourists once again are expected to flock beach resorts to unwind."

A really good action shot, with the foamed water even hitting the camera lens. This must indeed be a thrilling sport for guys like this one, with more than just a sense of achievement. Included is a person in the background, ready, I guess for his turn!  With a weak sun giving its glow like light way up there. j.e.s........

Great shot! Perfect timing. I love that the sun reflects off of the board. Congratulations! :)

Amazing shot.  The board, the other swimmer and the foam create a triangle with the sun in the middle.
