Steel Works, Volgograd, Russia, 1992
Photograph by James P. Blair
The Red October Steel Works stands alongside the Volga Matushka, or Mother Volga. Although not much trash can be seen in the water or along the shore, the Volga River is polluted by agrochemicals from farms and heavy metals from the factories that line its banks.
