I was in LA, saw this picture in big frame on the kitchen wall of a friend of mine, the 2 guys, the boy behind them and their mother on the right recognized themselves, more then 40 years after, just by coincidence, by looking at the book!!!
Picture showing many contrasts between old and modern time in the fashion of the people in the concept of the commerce in the way of living, in the ethnicities, in the ages of people. in fact the a line drawn in the middle of the picture separate to the left all what is old and to the right all what is new for that period.
If only we could turn back the clock to that time having learned from our mistakes...
Still a wonderful picture. Thank you
Hilarious! The ladies have to step off the sidewalk to avoid the sheep. I could be wrong but the guy on the right looks like he's ticked off the sheep are coming.
what a diversified culture shown in a tight picture compose of onny 25 feet distance telling much about beirut
@Terence Hill what the hell ?? Kaddafi is the President of Libya not Lebanon
i am so happy that I am able to remember scenes like these. I grew up in Lebanon in the 50's and 60's, and it was a fantastic place to live. I'll bet anything that those ladies crossing the street have a bottle of 4711 Eau de Cologne in their bags. It seemed all ladies did in those days!
It seems the sheep on the street is a surprise for passers. But I want to be over there to feel that mix of real life. Amazing.
