Wild Horses, France

Photograph by Marco Carmassi, Your Shot

This Month in Photo of the Day: Animal Pictures

I've been a photographer for more than 25 years. This is an image from my "Camargue Wild Horses" collection, composed of around 50 photos. I took it around a month ago during my trip to the Camargue Nature Park, where I had the luck to shoot these wonderful animals in their natural environment. I used a Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon 70-200mm L lens.

Hi, could you share how you were able to get this close to these wild horses of the camargue. I am trying to find a tour company that will take us up close.  many thanks.

I love this picture so much. I love the second horse from the left's face! He looks so content with running free in the water - I am pretty sure he is smiling.

Canon 5D Mark II is a well known workhorse among professional photographers. With a sharp lens in front, the setting is there for a great photograph. Waiting for these horses to run into view has definitely been wortwhile. Who wouldn't have liked to place his or her name under this print?
