David Evans worked for eight years as an art director in London, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C., before accepting the position of creative director for Ogilvy & Mather's offices in Caracas, Venezuela, where he worked for three years.
Evans then spent six years as creative director for National Geographic Television, where he also directed the photo operations department. Evans accompanied many production crews into the field, documenting the films with still photographs. His images have been published in the domestic and international editions of National Geographic magazine, USA Today, and dozens of other publications and communications materials.
Evans is now the creative director for a Washington, D.C.-based broadcast design agency, where he directs 3-D animation and television graphics for clients that include National Geographic, Discovery, and BBC America, among others.
Evans bases his continuing photographic exploration of Latin America from his farmhouse in the remote Venezuelan Andes, to which he returns at every opportunity.
