Tyrone Turner is a photojournalist based in Arlington, Virginia. His assignments have taken him from Brazil to Baghdad to the bayous of Louisiana with his camera in hand.
Turner has produced award-winning photographs for national and international publications such as Time, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, and the Los Angeles Times. He recently received a grant to document the issue of juveniles tried as adults in the United States.
Turner's contributions to National Geographic magazine include photographs for "Gone With the Water" (about the Louisiana bayou) in the October 2004 issue, "In Hot Water" (about hurricane warnings) in the August 2005 issue, and "Loving Our Coasts to Death" in the July 2006 issue.
