Water damage produced the look—sometimes Impressionistic, sometimes batik-like—of these photos by husband-and-wife team Cotton Coulson and Sisse Brimberg. Tightly bound in their original boxes, the transparencies were damaged by flooding but the emulsions and images remained intact. The photos have not been manipulated or digitally altered in any way.
