        "transcript": "<p class=\"MsoNormal\">They're the big, hairy spiders of our nightmares.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">And it's no wonder we're afraid.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tarantulas are the biggest of all of the arachnids.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">These spiders are killing machines, perfectly adapted to their habitats.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">And the biggest and baddest of them all is the Goliath.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">It can grow to nearly a foot across, with fangs an inch long.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Goliath makes its home in the remote rainforests of South America.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Night is when the Goliath is most active.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">But for these ambush predators, hunting means lying in wait.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Near the entrance to her burrow, she lays down a silk welcome mat.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">It acts like a trip-wire, letting her know when something has ventured within range.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Even with eight eyes, Goliaths-like most spiders-have weak vision.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">They're alerted to the presence of prey by vibrations rippling across their sensitive hairs.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">It's only a matter of time before some hapless creature-like this floor mouse-wanders too close, and brushes against the silk.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">It's like ringing a dinner bell.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Goliath's venom proves fatal to this mouse.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">But for most people, the tarantula's bite is no worse than a bee sting.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">According to researchers, there's never been a single confirmed human death from a tarantula bite.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Perhaps knowing the facts about these ancient predators can help turn human fear\u2026 into fascination.</p>",
